Quando comecei a utilizar Photoshop há mais de 15 anos, editar imagens de forma agressiva sem ver consequências era muito comum. Se falava muito os corpos e peles perfeitas em anúncios publicitários.
Coisas assim eram necessárias e produzidas sem grandes questionamentos:
Com o passar dos anos a situação é diferente. Apesar de ainda ter essa busca pela perfeição, há muito mais questionamento de qual retoque realmente é necessário. Semana passada coordenei a edição das fotos para o ensaio da fotografa Larissa Issis e fiquei feliz ao saber que as fotos eram para ressaltar a beleza, com retoques mínimos. Todas tem suas diferenças e isso as tornam lindas.
Aqui foi feita uma montagem com a intenção de preservar a saúde da equipe. Já que estamos em pandemia de Covid-19, nesta homenagem ao dia internacional da Mulher Negra, Latino-americana e Caribenha, elas não poderiam estar reunidas sem máscaras em um ambiente fechado. Foi uma boa alternativa optar pela montagem.
Com minhas ilustrações gosto de criar novas visões de mundo, expor ideias e levantar questionamentos para que tenhamos uma sociedade mais justa, um legado melhor para o futuro. Não é só no universo cinematográfico que podemos fazer uso de um VFX. Quando vejo como meu trabalho de artista gráfica interfere na sociedade, vejo a importância social que todos têm em ser agentes de mudança.

What is my social role in photo editing?
When I started to use photoshop about 15 years ago, It was usually editing images without focus on consequences. There was a lot of talk about perfect bodies and skins in advertisements.
Over the years the situation is different. Despite still having this quest for perfection, there is much more questioning of what retouching is really necessary. Last week I coordinated the editing of photos for the photo shoot Larissa Issis. I was happy to hear that the photos were meant to enhance the beauty, with minimal touches. All have their differences and that makes them beautiful.
Here, an assembly was made with the intention of preserving the health of the team. Since we are in the Covid-19 pandemic, in this honor they could not be gathered without masks in a closed environment. It was a good alternative to opt for editing.
With my illustrations, I like to create new worldviews, expose ideas and raise questions so that we have a fairer society, a better legacy for the future. It is not only in the cinematographic universe that we can make use of a VFX. When I see how my work as a graphic artist interferes in society, I see the social importance that everyone has in being agents of change.
